The Funniest Invincible Episode

We’d start the episode off with Thaedeus and Thragg both motivating their respective sides of the war, showing the difference in how they motivate one another. While Thaedeus is praising the coalition and slandering the viltrumites, we have Thragg saying they will not fail because the viltrumites are the one strongest race in the universe. It’s interesting to see the perspective of both characters as Thaddeus and Thraggs “dynamic” is pretty surface level in the comics. And I also like that we’re not just seeing Thragg aura farming like he has been and look a little deeper and see him being a genuine leader for his people. It also kinda tells you why he deserves this position, making you not even question why he's a leader. Now this dynamic is definitely sprinkled throughout the episode, but while this is going on, we have Oliver and Nolan bonding till Mark wakes up while Allen and Tech Jacket are playing Mission Impossible. So initially this episode feels like a slow burner which is expected from what we saw last time…. Which was genuinely disgusting. But that’s not to say this episode is boring in the slightest , because it’s definitely not. We get to see moody Teen Oliver scolding Nolan for a lot of the episode and for good reason too. Not only was Oliver abandoned and didn’t even have an interaction with Nolan but later on he eventually reveals to Nolan that he was listening to him and Debbie argue. Which adds more justification for Oliver acting like this. A lot of people commented on my last review that Nolan was simply apologizing thinking this could all go away, and we actually get more insight on that specific idea in this episode. Because Andressa in fact did mean something to Nolan and she was the reason he was able to believe redemption was even possible in the first place. As Nolan is expressing this, we see Oliver’s human side definitely showing here as he’s slowly opening up to Nolan and even about his past. Going from not wanting to hear about Nolan speak about his mother to wanting to hear all about it by the time Mark has been taken care of. While this is going on like I mentioned earlier, Allen and Zoe are currently hiding out on a viltrumite ship playing Fortnite together. Let me know down below who you think is carrying who. Anyway these two specifically are trying to reach the Coalition without alerting Lucan and John Viltrumite, but of course this doesn’t go their way and Allen is forced to 2v1 them. But after Zoe was thrown by Allen, she quickly grabbed Space Racer who unfortunately murders the strongest viltrumite in history, John Viltrum. Rest in peace goat Now after this point we’d have Allen and Zoe arrive at Thaedeus, and Mark finally would wake up. And guys I can’t even lie to you, this is my favorite scene in the episode for sure. You see the reason Mark started acting like this was because he believed Conquest was still alive, and possibly hurt Oliver or Nolan. I will say though we don’t get the statement of Conquest acting like a spectator in this fight with Mark so W Upscale I guess. And we FINALLY see the goat arrive, the one and only Battle Beast. I am so hyped he’s back and can’t wait to see him pop off next episode. Anyway Thragg would decide to gamble his cards and attack Thaedeus on his own turf, causing Massive Genocide. But it’s okay guys cuz the second Mark and them pull up, he begins to show them the post results of that Conquest fight. Thaedeus would scrap with Kregg, Allan would fight Lucan, and Invincible would come in and save Tech Jacket from Anissa. Mark and Oliver then proceed to fly through Thraggs aircraft and force bro back to his home planet. And this is all to pretty much set up one of the biggest moments in the entire comic. All in all, this episode was just absolutely solid and this is what peak set up and comic deviation looks like. I’m feeling a strong 8.5/10.
