Today, our underground exploring adventure leads back to an old, abandoned copper and lead mine that dates back to 1916. This mine is situated in a large section of highly fractured limestone that stretches for several hundred miles across the state! The vein the miners were chasing sits on a shallow angle that dips 5 to 15 degrees, and the stopes are all interconnected. This mine can be traversed without any rope gear, and was more like underground hiking rather than typical exploring. The frightening fractures in this abandoned mine would subdue most people's desire to explore this place, but here we are.
We initially thought we completed a full exploration of this mine, but as I studied the map further after I got back from this place, we missed A LOT! This video highlights us leaving off from part 1, and getting to the unexplored areas of this abandoned mine. Thanks for watching, and please subscribe!
