The Four-Star Borrowdale Hotel in the Lake District is one of the most prestigious hotels in the Borrowdale Valley, originally built in 1866, it was the first coaching Inn in the Borrowdale Valley and maintained a good reputation ever since. After a previous excellent stay 4 years ago, we wanted to enjoy another night way at the Borrowdale Hotel, especially as it has had a full refurbishment, since out last visit. We booked DB&B and we were keen to find out if the refurbishment has taken away the character and charm that we remembered and enjoyed so much, from our previous visit.
