Lumley Castle is a 14th Century Grade 1 Listed budling and built by Sir Ralph Lumley in 1389. Lumley Castle is one of the most haunted castles in the UK and several resident ghosts with the most famous being Lily Lumley, who was thrown down a well inside the castle by two priests and her spirit is supposed to rise from the well every night, with many visitors hearing her and some even seeing her around castle. Today, Lumley Castle is a 4 star hotel and many of the worlds top cricket teams have stopped at Lumley Castle when they have played England at the nearby International cricket ground, with terrifying results! Three West Indian cricketers checked out of Lumley Castle in the middle of the night, after heading and seeing paranormal activity. The Australian and Indian cricket teams all suffered the same paranormal activity while also staying at Lumby Castle with the Indian Captain Sourav Ganguly, being particularly effected. We booked a one night stay in a Lumley Castle feature room and when everyone was in bed, I walked around the castle myself, around the rooms, the courtyard and outside in the castle grounds, which resulted in several unnerving encounters and one terrifying experience when I went to sleep! At the end of the day: We Survived a Night at One of The UK's Most Haunted Castles Lumley Castle!
