The Week I Review | The Foul King began Kim Jee-Woon's incredible aughts | Movie Review @TheWeekIReview | Uploaded December 2019 | Updated October 2024, 1 hour ago.
Entry 67: Kim Jee-woon is one of my favorite working directors, and I've been looking for an excuse to talk about him on this channel. Fortunately, Film at Lincoln Center showed two of his films in 35mm at their recent Korean New Wave retrospective. Obviously, I saw them both (and a bunch of other things, including Save the Green Planet, which I reviewed a couple weeks back), and they were everything that I remembered but a whole lot more on the big screen.
This is technically a review of The Foul King, but it's really all things Kim Jee-woon, with a bit of discussion about Song Kang-ho for good measure.
