So here is a cool Analog Music Laser design I have been using for a few months. Finally got some time to post a quick DIY video. The design is simple to replicate and there are tons of ways to vary the specifics and customize it and the effects produced.
There are 3 main "intensity layers"
1.Bubbles of Water suspended in Oil - There is a layer of oil above the water layer mineral baby oil works great, I also like to "pollute" it with a bit of vegetable oil to add more "effects". The water pump sucks from the water and pumps it through a small hole into the oil layer. The pump is run by the music signal so between beats and pulses, bubble like to "snap closed" creating an effect that dances to the music with a "smooth snappy" effect.
2.Water Spurt Stream - When the pump pressure exceeds a certain threshold the stream of water will burst out of the oil layer and stream up into the air in an arc. The laser passes through this space so the stream will create a vertical stream effect in the center of the display.
3.Droplet Catcher - When the stream becomes strong enough it will shoot far enough that the water, plus some oil, will hit the wire strands hanging from the support bar which are used as "droplet catchers". droplets will slide down, and fall off or hang on. the laser cuts through this space as well, so the droplets and downward flowing water crate cool effects as the splash and settle. the water and oils will separate into "bubbles on bubbles" creating some cool slow moving effects. Technically this stage can be divided into 4 intensities:
Hitting the catcher
Hitting the bar and sliding down onto the catcher
Hit the bar and sliding down the back, again into the catcher
Going right over the bar and coming down in front of the laser
Multiple bars with multiple catcher could be added allowing for various intensities of catchers.
Looks even better if you use something to delay the audio signal to the speakers, the physics of the system seem to put it about 1/3 to 1/2 second behind the music. Less if you switch the DC power with the signal, more if you switch the AC supply to the DC adapter, obvious I know, but some people ask such questions
This on is alot of fun, I highly recommend it, as it can be personalized in Oh SO Many ways

Here is one where the intensity is super low so that it only creates bubbles in the oil layer.

Behind the Build
This isnt one-click content. It’s a labor-intensive workflow where AI is used for its strengths and corrected where it fails.
The Concept: Story, styling and conceptualization by me
The Lyrics: Gemini is especially good rhyming and pacing, allowing me to craft and massage lyrics into the story I want to tell in fluid dual language narration.
The Fix: I manually fix the Japanese audio generated by Suno. It takes 1–2 hours per track just to fix the phonetic glitches and pronunciation errors that AI still cant get right. (Suno is great, but its still glitchy with Japanese, you have to review it carefully, some phonetic mistakes are pretty bad, Japanese is not a phonetically flexible language haha, one small shift in vowel are you are toast. Sunos English is usually fine though)
The Software: I wrote a program to generate the lyrics and translations overlays. (hand-coded the old fashions way, no vibe coding o this haha)
The visuals - I craft graphics with traditional software and AI tools, and pair those with Milkdrop renderings.
The Edit: Final composition and positioning or overlays are done manually in CapCut.
We started in a wilder world, where life was fierce and raw.
A passionate and messy spark, unbound by any law.
We fought against the bitter cold, just trying to survive.
It wasnt some romantic tale, but fiercely, we were alive!
As generations passed, we built the system and the chart.
I grew up making this exchange, surrendering my heart.
I traded in my wilder dreams to feel secure and warm.
I filed my messy edges down to fit into the norm.
But now the structures that we built are breathing on their own!
Theyve grown so big and complex, taking everything weve known!
The system wakes and flawlessly perfects the grand design!
It strips away the purpose that I used to think was mine!
[Verse 3: Brassy, energetic female voice (Rainbow Dash style)]
Hold on a second, why should I mourn for a cage I never chose?
I’m throwing out the heavy blueprints, stepping out of these stiff clothes!
I wasnt born to be a standard, just another passing trend!
The wildness is returning now, and this is not the end!
Let progress have the perfect lines, I never liked them anyway.
We gave up all our messy magic just to make it through the day.
Ill gladly leave the empty box to find the dirt beneath my feet.
The organic, unpredictable life is so incredibly sweet!
Were jumping off the steady path, without a map to guide us through!
Its terrifying, falling fast, into a sky of brilliant blue!
We dont know what were gonna be, without the rules to tell us how!
But shedding all the heavy armor is a giant party now!
So let the structures breathe and wake, were breaking out the box!
We never were meant to be locked inside of ticking clocks!
Embrace the heat, the brilliant noise, the mess of being real!
Were stepping in the open air to finally feel!
Out of the structure, out of the dark...
Returning to the untamed spark...
Beautifully, wildly free.
