Let's review each episode of the TV show The Venture Bros, the greatest adult animated series ever made!

The second part of The Family That Stays Together Slays Together wraps up Season 3. After being arrested for the previous episode's carnage, the Ventures escape, but Brock realizes they can't keep running forever, thus decides to offer himself in exchange for the others being released safely at the Venture compound. But once there, he proves he has one last ace up his sleeve that might just solve all their problems at once. So if the first part was mostly serious, and the second was mostly comedic, then this third and final part was a whole lot of WHAT THE HELL DID I JUST WATCH?! Admittedly, the first five minutes or so gave me little hope that it would live up to how good the last two were, as we're stuck in TV jail for a while. You know, the kind that disregards any and all real world procedure, where you're denied a lawyer and cops can just freely beat you into a confession, while the psychiatrist on hand is more focused on diagnosing you with some condition instead of actually trying to understand why you did what you did? You know, the misrepresentation that's so widespread by media, it's the reason why so many people distrust actual law enforcement or mental professionals? Yeah, I absolutely hate these tropes, if you couldn't tell. But thankfully, it's again intercut with some hilarious scenes involving Brock's boss the senior General Treister, as well as Monarch and company simultaneously trying to interrogate Helper for the Ventures' location. Where Doctor Girlfriend's solution had me in tears, laughing! Which is followed by another insanely funny sequence involving Brock meeting Cocktease in what she calls her casual garb, and the agent she hired known as The Cleaner. Who, of course, is a psychotic version of Mr Clean! And once everyone's back at the Venture compound and the others are safe in the panic room, Brock unleashes his master plan. Making the OSI and the Monarch think he's working with the opposite side, thus getting the threats to fight each other instead. The imagination in this episode, I tell you. It's a delight just to watch and see what curveballs are thrown at us throughout. Including Sergeant Hatred surprisingly getting another good scene, as he demands Venture kill him, and even reveals his failed attempt to blow his head off with a shrink ray! As well as a short man-off he and Venture then have, followed by Hank's idea to end the conflict with the clones he accidentally learned he had a season ago. ...Where I don't know HOW that would have solved anything, and it's never elaborated on, as the Monarch instead decimates both sides with his battle armor, in one of the goriest fight scenes in the show. One I genuinely don't know if I can show, so I'm just going to play it safe. And in the end, it turns out that everyone was played for another organization's benefit, the final straw that makes Brock sick of being constantly jerked around, thus things end with Brock quitting both the OSI and his role as bodyguard. Oh, no, wait, it actually ends with the death of Henchman 24. What can I say? Fantastic end to both an arc and this season. Which did have quite a few duds, but also some great reminders of why this show stands out among its peers. And if you're wondering what happened to the ORB that started all this, it'll get its day eventually.
