The Fall is the second movement of a three movement work, with Ascension being the grand finale of that work. I wrote this piece during a dark time in my life. I believe everyone has felt as if they are spiraling down into a hole of depression or agony with no way out and that is what I hoped to capture through this particular piece. It represents agony but in the final movement the listener rises above all hardships and ascends as a better person. I hope this piece speaks to you as it does to me.
