April 21, 2024 service at the First Unitarian Church of Salt Lake City. The sermon by the Rev. J Sylvan explores several apocalyptic narratives, from the flood story and the Book of Revelation to climate change and artificial intelligence – end-of-the-world narratives that have influenced societal anxieties and shaped perceptions of current events, politics, and technological advancements. The service also includes a homily from lay minister Don Walton and two original songs written and sung by Rev. J. Finally, Nan Seymour and the Great Salt Lake Vigil Keepers bring a festive procession into the chapel, representing brine shrimp, birds, and the other vulnerable inhabitants of the endangered Great Salt Lake.
