In this video, I show you the easy way to descale the Delonghi Magnifica Evo. This also works the same way for the Magnifica Start.
First, remove the milk container, and the water filter. Then, empty the water tank, drip tray and grounds catch bin. Next, put 100ml of Delonghi descaler in the tank, up to level A. Top that up with water until level B.
Press and hold the Descale button, to enter descaling mode. Make sure you have a 2 liter container to catch the liquid under the spouts. Then, press the descale button to start the descaling phase. This can take up to 30 minutes.
When the descaling has finished, the "add water" light will illuminate, prompting you to add water. First, empty the remains of the descaling solution out, and rinse the tank. Dump the water out of the drip tray and grounds catch bin, too. Fill up the tank with fresh water, up to the Max level, and put the tank back in the machine. Press the descale button to start the first rinse.
Repeat the above process again for the second rinse. Then, fill up the water tank again to the max level, with fresh water. Your descaling is complete.
