Nashville Franklyn Leslie showed up in Tombstone in 1880, wearing the buckskin outfit of a frontier scout, earning him the nickname Buckskin Frank Leslie. Over the next decade in Tombstone, Leslie would become one of the most infamous figures in the days of the wild west. Then, after serving six years of a life sentence, he would all but disappear from history. Or so the legends would have you believe.
Buckskin Frank Leslie is one of the most mysterious figures of the old west. Almost nothing is known of the first 36 years of his life, and what is known can't be verified. Then, after he leaves the Yuma Territorial Prison in 1896, his story gets murky again.
New research has filled in some of the gaps of his life, and possibly made the story even stranger.
In this video we are going to take a look at Leslie's days in Tombstone, where he was in one of the most famous gunfights of the west, his days in Yuma, and then what happened after.
