Andy Gilleand | The Crew Beta: Los Angeles to New York City (non stop) @AndyGilleand | Uploaded 9 years ago | Updated 1 hour ago
Just a video of me driving non stop from LA to NYC, following the GPS. Very few accidents, good average speed. Not the most interesting route, but there's some good scenery here. Again, you don't have to follow the GPS or even stick to the roads if you don't want, although around the mountains things get difficult if you try to just drive straight over them, as you'll often run into terrain too rocky or steep to effectively climb, but there's a LOT to see out there in this game. Probably the biggest map I've seen in a game yet, aside from things like Minecraft where the content is user generated.
I think the game is a lot better than people have been giving it credit for. The map is huge, and the lighting is especially beautiful at times. Yeah, some details are low quality, but you can't have graphics like the other racing games when you have a massive open world like that. As for the driving mechanics, they are super customizable. If you don't like how the cars drive, try messing with the settings. Look up some guides or videos online if you don't know what they do. You can almost certainly get the game to run the way you want. I personally play with a Thrustmaster T100 wheel with the linearity turned up 3 notches and it plays great.
