Today I finally visit the legendary Colosseum in the heart of Rome — one of the most famous ancient landmarks in the world.

Tickets for the Colosseum were completely sold out online, so I decided to take my chances and look for last-minute options in person. After walking around for an hour and talking to a few different people, I eventually found someone who seemed legitimate and was able to join a guided tour inside the Colosseum.

Honestly, seeing the Colosseum in person was even more impressive than I expected. Standing inside a structure nearly 2,000 years old and imagining the history that took place there was an unforgettable experience.

From ancient Roman history and architecture to the atmosphere of modern Rome, this was easily one of the highlights of my layover in Italy.
