Joyeux Noël!
Reading the book by Trosclair. I was asked, for the second strait year, to be the MC at a Christmas festival. The festival is called “Christmas Around the Cabin” and takes place in Merryville, LA.
Merryville is a small town with an approximate population of only 1,000 residents, west Louisiana on the Texas border. It’s too for north to be part of South West Louisiana (Cajun County) and too far South to be part of west Central Louisiana.
As part of MC duties I was asked to read the Cajun Night before Christmas.
I’m not Cajun! I’m redneck, that’s more of my ethnicity. I grew up in East Louisiana on the Mississippi Border. I even went to college in Mississippi. I’ve love most of my adult life on West Louisiana not too far from Merryville.
Even though I’m not Cajun my late wife was half Cajun, and my current girlfriend is all Cajun. I’m some what familiar with Cajun culture and I can understand the dialect fairly well. However, i’m certainly no expert at imitating the dialect. Even so I tried. I hope you enjoy seeing Big Lew do something he wasn’t too sure he wanted to do. Even so I enjoyed it. I hope my viewers have fun watching it.
