Marketing in cosmetics has long been the tail wagging the dog, but with the rise of social media and the change in how companies interact with consumers, the industry has been spiraling. Today, that dog is chasing its tail. From ‘clean’ fear-mongering, to greenwashing, to large brands taking a ‘if you can't beat them join them’ approach. It’s unclear if we will ever make any real change or if we will just continue to self-congratulate until the next BS consumer trend rolls around for everyone to jump on that bandwagon.
To try and dismantle the wagon, our first #beautyscience e-panel of 2022 will analyze how the wagon got here, where it’s headed, and how we can identify bunk for bunk and prevent ourselves from jumping on board.
