Technology is increasingly central to geopolitical competition, but what does that mean in practice? This session examined the strategic forces shaping global competition, including the contest between a broadly democratic West, still led by the United States despite shifts in its global role, and a more revisionist authoritarian model led by China.

Andrew Shearer, Director-General of the Office of National Intelligence, explored the major geopolitical trends influencing national security, strategic competition and the future international order. The session was moderated by Justin Bassi, Executive Director of ASPI.
