This session explored how emerging technologies are reshaping modern warfare, the key trends driving change, and the lessons drawn from the war in Ukraine. The panel examined how Ukraine has transformed the use of drones and adapted its broader defence architecture to support its response to Russia’s invasion, including through widespread digitisation. It also considered how technology is being integrated into intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, situational awareness, joint force operations, targeting, and AI-enabled decision-making.

Speakers included: Marco Criscuolo, Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary General and Director, Strategy and Policy, Cyber and Digital Transformation Division, NATO, Airis Rikveilis, National Security Adviser to the Prime Minister, Republic of Latvia, and Lyuba Shipovich Founder, Dignitas Ukraine.
