Description: On October 29, ASPI's Women in Defence and Security Network (WDSN) was pleased to host an event with AIDN to mark the 25th anniversary of the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) agenda. The panel, moderated by ASPI's Dr Raji Rajagopalan, featured Lilianne Fan and Adelina Kamal from the Southeast Asian Women Peace Mediators (SEAWPM), Wing Commander and Gender, Peace and Security Advisor Catherine Humphries from the Australian Defence Force, Dr Helen Durham, Chief Executive Officer of RedR Australia and Rear Admiral Letitia van Stralen, Head of Military Personnel for the Australian Defence Force. The panel also included a short introduction from Australia's Ambassador for Gender Equality, Michelle O'Byrne.
The panel discussed the critical role women play shaping resilient and inclusive societies, as well as reflecting on the past 25 years of WPS, and looking ahead to the challenges and opportunities to come.
