Redbud Cafe, Blanco (2015)
Two working potters looked around Blanco's town square back in 2009 and decided the town needed a proper gathering spot. That's how Redbud Cafe was born, and it's turned into the kind of cafe bakery bar combo that makes a quick stop in Blanco turn into a lingering one.
Order the Reuben, and don't skip dessert. Their cookies and cheesecake have built a following of their own, and if you time it right in the winter, their potato chip cookies alone are worth the drive. Wash it down with a beer from the full bar and you've got the makings of a perfect Hill Country lunch.
Redbud sits right on the square, next door to Brieger Pottery and across from the old Blanco County Courthouse, putting you in the middle of everything worth seeing in town. Grab a seat, order something sweet, and let the afternoon slow down a little.
