Texas history doesn't always come with a plaque on the courthouse lawn. Sometimes it comes buried in an old case file, or plucked out on a guitar nobody wants to touch after dark.
Today we're digging into three stories that got half forgotten and deserve a second look.
First up, the Houston Riot of 1917. Real history, not campfire talk, and it's heavier than most of what we cover around here. We're not sanding off the hard edges. We're telling you what actually happened, as close as the record lets us get.
Then we lighten up, sort of, with a guitar folks swear is haunted. I've played some open mic nights that felt cursed, but this one's got an actual legend behind it, and we chased it down.
And finally, the case of the Santa burglar. Yes, you read that right. Somebody pulled off a string of break-ins dressed as Old Saint Nick, and it took the law a minute to catch up with him. We'll tell you exactly where it happened and how they finally got their man.
