In the early 1980s, the ancient city of Petra, one of the most spectacular archaeological sites in the world, was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. To protect this priceless treasure of human history, the Jordanian authorities relocated the B’doul tribe, the Bedouin community that had lived among Petra’s caves and monuments for generations.
Forced to leave the place they had called home for centuries, the B’doul had to rebuild their lives in a nearby settlement while tourism to Petra exploded. Today, millions of visitors walk through the famous Siq and the Treasury, often unaware that the site was once a living community.
This documentary offers a rare journey into the daily life of the B’doul tribe, exploring how this Bedouin community has adapted to displacement, tourism, and modern change while trying to preserve its traditions and identity.
