After being diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer and told he had only months to live, Mi’kmaq spiritual leader Mike Doucette set out to pass on the teachings that had transformed his own life. Once known for his anger and violence, he became a respected guide helping Indigenous communities reconnect with ceremony, culture and healing.
For nearly three decades, Mike has helped revive traditional Mi’kmaq practices in communities like Conne River, inspiring a new generation to embrace their language, spirituality and identity.
