Think you don't need the extra power of the M5 Pro? Fair, but the upgrade isn't just about speed. The base M5 MacBook Pro has a single fan, while the M5 Pro and Max get dual fans, so better cooling and airflow. You also get Thunderbolt 5 ports, which means faster docking stations and SSDs that hit double the speed of Thunderbolt 4. That's why I usually recommend stepping up from the M5 to the M5 Pro. The M5 Max is pretty expensive and most people should avoid it, but the M5 Pro has upgrades you may find useful later on.
