On the 59th anniversary of the Apollo moon landing, join Active Galactic as we travel to the United States Geological Survey and the Cinder Lake Crater field in Flagstaff, Arizona to learn more about the science that helped prepare the Apollo astronauts to land on the moon.
In this video, The Astrogeologist Who Taught The Apollo Astronauts, we get to see the GROVER, the test vehicle for the lunar rover, and learn about Gene Shoemaker, the first astrogeologist, the man who ALMOST got to go to the moon, and taught geology to the Apollo astronauts.
