In our 100th Episode, we're taking out the ARRI Alexa Mini, loading it up with the ARRI Look Library and shooting over 20 Looks or LUTs to compare them side-by-side with some 4K Test Footage. We also film 3 mini scenes to showcase our favorite Looks.
If you haven't used the ARRI Look Library, it's a powerful set of 87 custom high quality LUTs that you can load into your ARRI cinema camera. Each Look has 3 different intensity levels. We shot all of the Alexa Mini Test Footage at the "2" intensity which is the middle ground.
By using the ARRI LUTs in the Look Library you can change the color in your scene to match the theme or feel that best fits your film or commercial. The library includes some basics like High Contrast, Warm, and Cold. But it also has some more interesting color grades like Day for Night, and Bleach ByPass.
We filmed the standard ARRI Alexa Rec 709 LUT and then over 20 different Looks from the collection so you can see them side-by-side in this comparison. These custom LUTs are a great way to get the Hollywood Film Look before even getting into the editing suite.
