The Albright knot is a knot used in angling. It is a strong knot used to tie two different diameters of line together, for instance to tie monofilament to braid. The Albright is smooth and passes through guides more easily than a double uni knot. Some anglers coat the knot with cement to make it even smoother and more secure. The challenge in the knot tying is to remember and check that the braid coming into the loop of the mono passes across with the braid going out on the same side, which is the locking mechanism that prevent the knot from slipping.
