This video was made to provide the most honest and transparent Brompton bicycle review and the review was made for those of you that have not decided whether to buy a Brompton M6L that is 3 times as expensive as a Decathlon Btwin Tilt 900.
None of the thoughts or comments in the video has by any means been influenced or made to promote the Brompton as a brand, or their bicycles. It is an independent and objective review made on the basis that possibly I will consider buying on and pay for it myself.
My overall impression is that Brompton inevitably makes a very unique product, and clearly works on building a brand, which hopefully you will buy and then join in with others as a ‘Brompton owner’. I’m hesitant to this since my first thought, when I see that several parts like the gear shifters and the derailleur etc, is Brompton unique, ...is what shall I do when there is no Brompton shop around?
Now, if you are a city biker with a Brompton Junction shop around the corner, I would probably buy this bike even with the higher price tag (1500 euro compared to 500 euro for the decathlon bike) due to the on average slightly higher grade components and more stylish build and unique construction, together with all the cool accessories.
However, as a semi-good, or at least somewhat knowledgeable bicycle mechanic that at least can fix my own punctured tires, and adjust the rear derailleur, I will stick to upgrading my Decathlon TILT 900 because I can not fix the rear derailleur myself on a Brompton M6L if I am out traveling.
