Attermire Scar is on the Middle Craven Fault, and Stockdale Beck runs off it down Scaleber Force. Stockdale Beck is an underfit stream: so what created its valley was a larger runoff from the Last Ice Age. It's a lovely area for hiking. Or just for looking at.
