Uther Pendragon's castle is one of the smaller ones in England. Seems to lack the cachet of his more famous mythical son, King Arthur. It is located South of Kirkby Stephen, between Wild Boar Fell and Mallerstang Edge.
Middleham Castle was the seat of the Earls of Warwick, till one of them betrayed Edward IV and died at the Battle of Barnet. Richard III inheirited Middleham, along with Warwick's daughter Anne (they had been childhood lovers growing up at Middeham. Contrary to the Tudor propaganda that Shakespeare regurgitates).
