Vishen Lakhiani | The 2 most important jobs for parents | @vishenlakhiani in @lewishowes Podcast @vishenlakhiani | Uploaded February 2023 | Updated October 2024, 15 hours ago.
Did your parents do this for you? 👆Parenting is a challenging but rewarding journey, and it's important to know what the most important jobs are as a parent. On @lewishowes School of Greatness podcast, I share what I believe to be two key insights for parents, based on the teachings of psychologist Shelly Lefkoe and from what I've learned from my own parenting journey:
1 Protect your child's belief system 🧠
According to psychologist Shelly Lefkoe, founder of The Lefkoe Method, the most important thing a parent can do is to protect their child's beliefs. Teach your child that their beliefs have the power to heal their body, and that gratitude and appreciation will bring good things into their life. Emphasize the importance of compassion and make sure they understand that a bad grade or failure is not the end of the world.
2 Ensure they know they are loved 💕
It's critical for children to feel loved and valued by their parents. Let your child know without a doubt that you love them, even if it feels uncomfortable. Share your love with them, whether it's through words or actions. Showing love and affection can help your child love themselves and develop healthy relationships in the future.
