I misstated the name of the hike - it's not the "Ura Iwate Juso" - though I've heard it called that by some- but rather the "Mitsuishi Batei Juso" - which translates roughly as the Mitsuishi Horseshoe traverse. (It overlaps the Ura Iwate Juso though.)
