The year is 2014. I'm starting to understand things. Society had let me down, like all gay kids. I'm starting to figure it out. I discover Fire Emblem Awakening. I'm obsessed with the beautiful character designs. I meet a wild cast of characters, and it finally all makes sense.
Last night, I discovered that my copy stopped working. I don't know when, or how or why. This game is really important to me, an integral part of my identity. I feel like I have suffered a great loss, and not just all the supports that I spent hours and hours grinding for (I was almost at 100% up to A).

Yes, Fire Emblem Awakening was my gay Awakening.

Tharja was the first canonical sapphic character I ever encountered who was a human being. I didn't care that she was a sociopath (I totally cared and still do that she's hot) because she made me feel valid. (also I was in the depths of my edgy phase... sooooo........)

This song is the first I've ever heard on the radio where I was like "wait that sounds gay, is that gay?" As it turns out, Ava Max is indeed sapphic, but doesn't want to talk too much about her personal life. Can't say I blame her. Maybe I also immediately loved this song because some part of me was reminded of Tharja.

Apparently I'm on a Fire Emblem and/or Ava Max kick.
