Into the Eagle's Nest Pandora 1987.
In an era when the Speccy was flooded with Gauntlet clones, Into the Eagle's Nest stands out as one of the best and most atmospheric ones. It takes the top-down dungeon-crawler formula, wraps it in a fun WW2 to infiltrate the Nazi castle and delivers a surprisingly tense and strategic experience.
The pace is slower and more methodical than Gauntlet, which actually works in its favour on the Spectrum. It feels more like a proper mission than an arcade blaster.

$TeZ-X Spectrum 1199 Rescue on Freactalus Rescue on Fractalus! 1986 Lucasfilm Games’ early effort originally developed for Atari 8-bit systems and released around 1985 arrived on the ZX Spectrum in 1986 published by Activision. It remains one of the more ambitious attempts to bring a first-person 3D flight rescue mission to the Speccy. Pilot your Valkyrie fighter over fractal mountains to rescue downed pilots while blasting alien defenses. The concept and cockpit atmosphere are impressive for the era, but on the Speccy the graphics are jerky and the action quickly becomes repetitive, and it never quite matches the smoother Atari original. A solid historical curiosity rather than an essential Spectrum classic. An open imagination will improve the game play.
