Galaxy Force Activision 1989.
A brave but visually flawed attempt to bring Sega’s flashy arcade shooter to the humble Spectrum. You pilot a spacecraft through five planets and a final base, blasting enemies whilst navigating tunnels and alien landscapes.
The Spectrum simply isn’t built for this kind of game. Tunnel sections become a confusing mess of sprites and at times resemble one of those 3D magic eye posters. The gameplay feels sluggish and the interstellar dog fights fall flat. If you've got the sequel on the Mega Drive just fire that up instead.
