This was uploaded as a mirror version of what is currently out there on YouTube. So I had to put it here for the Bear-y Tales channel as a way to preserve the show even further.
Tex Critter's Pizza Jamboree was a franchise that existed in the 1980s. It was made during a time when a lot of competitors were jumping on the Pizza band craze started by Chuck E Cheese. Leading to competitors such as Rock A Fire Explosion, Circus Playhouse, Major Magics, and many, many more.
Now the show itself was designed by Larry Nikolai of Disney fame. The fabrication of the animatronics was done by AVG Productions and the Characters themselves were done by none other than Rolly Crump; carrying over his traditional animal designs from Marvel McFey and Knott's Bear-y Tales. The show followed the antics of the dashing Country Cal and his quirky pet snake named Skeeter. A genuine country Dragon with a love for music named Tex Critter. And the lovely Roxanne Rose who is always addressed by her stage name Foxy Roxy. Together the guys performed some good ol' country hits and get into crazy scenarios on stage as they perform.
The shows and the Pizza chain itself lasted from 1982 to 1986 and was handled at one time by Castle Entertainment. When the chain ended, the animatronics themselves went into private collections and some might have been tossed. Although it is the more forgotten one of the Pizza bands. It was arguably one of the best ones that existed for sure with the incredible animation done by AVG Productions and the charming cast of characters.
I had to reupload this video for archival purposes and to let people know that Rolly Crump and Larry Nikolai designed it. That and it deserves to be talked about again despite the lack of new info in recent years. Plus, something that happened a couple years ago that tried to drag the show down.
Which I find unfair to Tex Critter's designers and the show itself.
