This is Marlon Brando's private island Tetiaroa on a day trip from Papeete, Tahiti. After a three-hour catamaran ride, we take a small dinghy to get to the island, which is actually a collection of atolls. On one part of the island, there is The Brando, a luxury resort. On another part, there is Bird Island, a bird sanctuary. We walk to Bird Island and see stunning water, beaches and the birds flying around the island. People are no longer allowed on the island so we see it from a distance. We also find a sign placed by the Family of Marlon Brando. As a fan of Brando, I never thought I'd see this island so this was a beyond-bucket-list trip for me. The walk to Bird Island was hot and rocky but it was worth every minute! The excursion started before sunrise and ended as the sun was setting but included a delicious lunch. We went with Poe Charters.
