Today we will be evaluating the ELMS Laser Training system in a back hallway at home using the wife's Glock 26. As such I've ordered the 9mm variant. After an unboxing of everything and a safe clearing of the GLock, we load the device into the chamber and install software onto the smartphone.
Targets are setup at the end of the hallway, and the app conducts a calibration to it. In testing it was a bit awkward both the weight being changed without ammo nor a magazine. Also, the requirement to rack it back between shots is definitely different. Neither, was a major issue, but required an adjustment period. Bringing the smartphone closer to the target allows for smaller pistol targets to be used with wonderful precision.
Other Apps from different companies were also tried with different features and varying success. Some caused multiple hits to be reported per shot.
After testing the Glock was cleared, completing the evaluation.
