Santo Domingo has a modern metro system which includes a 5 km long urban cable car line.
There are 4 stations along the line, Gualey Station T1, Los Tres Brazos Station T2, Sabana Perdida Station T3, and Charles de Gaulle Station T4. At Sabana Perdida Station T3, you must get off your cable car cabin and board another cabin. At this station, there is a large car barn to hold 215 cabins.
We had a great time riding this and felt very safe during the whole day in Santo Domingo.

The University of Dortmund uses an automated suspended monorail to connect its campuses. The monorail has three lines, and can run their monorails with incredibly short frequency of 30 seconds.
This monorail is made by Siemens, and one other monorail like this exists. Its sister monorail is a updated version currently at the Düsseldorf International Airport.
