The Portland Washington Park and Zoo Train use to be twice as long as it is today. The train connected the zoo to the Rose Garden which is on the other side of Washington Park. In 2014, half of the route was shut down because of crumbling retaining walls and it was too expensive to repair. Hopefully the train can be restored to its full route!
