Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Empire City is Cortopia Studios' first-person TMNT VR adventure — a semi-open-world co-op action game that lets you (and up to three friends in cross-platform co-op) play as Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, or Michelangelo across a stylized, cel-shaded New York City. Pete spent hours in Chinatown and the Lower East Side, learning the parkour, growing into the combat, and figuring out where the game actually shines. This review covers traversal, combat, stealth, multiplayer, the cel-shaded art style, the (very strong) voice work, the (less strong) score, the progression system, and the missed opportunity of the free-roam loop. If TMNT means something to you, the slow burn is worth it.
