All Things 3D | Teaser for the CMS docking level of "Ascent: The Eagle Has Left the Moon." @allthings3d | Uploaded 4 years ago | Updated 19 hours ago
Teaser for the upcoming second part of the 'Apollo 11: One Small Step For...' VR Experiences titled "Ascent: Eagle Has Left the Moon." There will also be a full 12 minute version on YouTube including the full seven minutes to orbital insertion that has never been seen before by anyone except Neil Armstrong & Buzz Aldrin, until now that will be available Friday.
Thanks to NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration for making the high resolution datasets available to allow for detail down to 5 meters and @Unreal Engine 4.24.1's new landscape, virtual textures and UDIM capability to tame these large images that allow this detail & realism at a decent #VR framerate to be possible. Also thanks to the latest NVIDIA GTX & RTX video cards and the latest headsets from Valve, HTC VIVE Korea, Oculus and @Samsung (and any other headset compatible with #OpenVR) you too can experience what it must have felt like (except for being weightless, but I am working on that :) ) to take this "pretty spectacular ride"*
*Neil Armstrong said this at Day 4, UTC 04:24:17 as they flying over the craters Sabine, Schmidt, Ritter on Aldrin's right and to Neil's left was the huge crater Delimbre and smaller family of Theon Junior & Senior.
NOTE: This is all 'ingame' footage recorded using a HDMI recorder. Your experience should be similar with a GTX1070 (4GB+) or similar video card and i5 or above processor.
Music is done by the very talented Stellardrone. Look for more of his music in the upcoming videos and VR Experiences.
