The long awaited Tango II is finally here. TBS have spent a ton of time trying to get this product to meet all their requirements as far as form factor, portability, robustness and minimal latency. We've seen progression of the Tango II for some time but only got our hands on one at the FAI Race in Ningbo China in 2019.
All in all it's been performing way better than expected. Early 2019 Thomas was noticing issues with his Taranis and the way it communicated with Crossfire. In typical Thomas fashion he started a Facebook Chat with Trappy, Remo and one of the BF Dev's calling the Chat "Superfast Protocol Things". He basically wanted them to start talking to each other and investigate what was going on. It literally took months of investigation until they finally worked out what was going on and started making significant progress in improving how CRSF started talking to Open TX. All that development contributed to the delays in getting the Tango II out. TBS wanted to get the absolute maximum out of this radio.
Anyway without boring you with more details, a ton of work has gone into this and if you're in the market for a portable low latency radio that has built in Crossfire this is probably the product for you. They have a group of people testing and work with TBS on everything from latency test (which is what we focussed on) through to others range testing the Tango II etc
Anyway I hope you enjoy this video, note that this not a sponsored video. The pre-production Tango II was provided by TBS for the purpose of testing it and providing them with feedback.

![Sharjah MultiGP Drone Racing Championships 2024
2024 MultiGP Sharjah Drone Championship: My first Spec Race and first time racing a 7 machine. I ran in 6 heats, 5 of which I had mid-air collisions, the other I raced with a bent motor. Needless to say I didnt achieve the results I was hoping for (finished P8 on points), but for the flip side, I had plenty of fun battles and know Im still up their with the best, even in a field of racing I dont have much experience with!
My personal endeavours aside, what a truely ground breaking event for MultiGP & FPV. Chris Thomas and the team, along side the Sharjah crew put on an incredible show, that was both fun to spectate, and really fun to fly in. Im not sure theres ever been such a successful first event of its kind in FPV, but if this is was the experimental event, the worst that it gets, Im really excited to see what the MultiGP team pulls off next.
A massive thank you to the Sharjah for being such wonderful hosts, the MultiGP team for putting together this wonderful experience for both pilots and spectators, and also providing the opportunity to catch up with names in FPV Racing that I wasnt sure when I was going to cross paths again. This was one awesome way to do it and I really hope I get to participate in an event like this soon.
To the pilots, thank you so much for being such awesome competitors on track, and creating wonderful memories off track too. It was a really fun adventure and I cant wait to meet again!
(A bonus thank you to Amari for giving myself and Shaun Taylor a crash course on maximising performance in RPM limit racing too, youre a legend) (Also massive thanks to the tech ops crew for relentlessly repairing our machines after the many mid-air collisions that ensued :P )
Congratulations to Levi, MCK, BanniUK & Killian for rounding off the event with an epic grand final race.
Back to training, stay safe and best wishes!
Hope you enjoy it. Comments and Questions down below :)
