In this video I show you how to make a well known vintage edging called "Hen & Chicks", a pattern made with one shuttle only and suitable for beginners.

And here is the pattern written out:
R4-4, rw (reverse work)
In between each element, leave a 4mm bare thread
R3-3-3-3, rw
*R3+2-2-2-2-2-2-3, rw
R3+3-3-3, rw
R4+4, rw
R3+3-3-3, rw
R4-4, rw
R3+3-3-3, rw
Repeat from *

The thread I am using is Lizbeth Country Turquoise Lt in size 20. The shuttle I am tatting with is one of my modified and decorated shuttles (they can sometimes be found for sale in my shop: etsy.com/uk/shop/lacossette).

And don't forget you can change the playback quality to get a higher quality image (click on the little wheel to change settings).
