This level revolves around collecting the 8000 point bonuses from every Koopa, and the creating a loop with the last one. Its the first clone level, but does play a little differently than 1-3.
Some pausing throughout the run is to manipulate where the Bullet Bills spawn to enable killing as many as possible. The Yoshi Egg at the end is also just barely a point loss to collect, and is thus skipped.

Like the other water level in 2-2, there are very few points to get. This TAS gets everything except the first red coin and makes it to the 296 cycle. As a faster cycle cant be reached without sacrificing more than 500 points and the first red coin is too far out of the way to otherwise make this cycle, this score is almost certainly maxed out.

This castle is very simple as there is very little to collect, three of the red coins are not worth the points, and the level is mostly empty. In order to score better than the non-TAS record, I had to make everything as tight as possible, and used a slightly faster start for the first red coin. With all of this, I finished with 2 frames to spare before the timer would reach the next Mario second. This has to be maxed out.

Like most castle levels, the strategy here is to simply get all points and finish as fast as possible. After tightening everything up, I finished at 249 with 10 more frames needed to cut to save the next Mario second. I dont think its possible, but if it is, it is definitely the maximum.
