In Chinese medicine your emotions are part of your body and your body is a reflection of your emotional energy. Our medicine never splits the body and mind apart.
Since ancient times, TCM has known that your Gallbladder has interesting functions, like coordinating your ability to make choices and be decisive. Of course, these functions are not recognized or accepted in the Western medical field…yet.
Not even 20 years ago acupuncture was considered hocus pocus by the majority of the medical field. Today, those who doubt acupuncture are in the minority.
For those open to this concept, think about the thousands of “decisions” your body automatically makes everyday. Something decides when to send hormone-stimulating proteins to your ovaries. What controls which muscles activate or deactivate when you sit down or stand up? Or, how about when to send blood, rich in healing proteins to the site of a cut or injury?
This is the job of your Gallbladder system. If you’ve had your Gallbladder removed - the Gallbladder energy channel remains (running from your eyes to your toes). Some degree of its functions may be preserved depending on how well other organ systems step in to compensate.
This exercise is easy, fun and a great 5 min break to get you up from your desk, especially if you’re feeling overwhelmed, tense or struggling with decision overload.
