Cutting tall or narrow parts on the table saw can feel sketchy when the standard fence doesn’t give enough support. In this video, let me show you how to build a simple tall fence that slips over an existing table saw fence, which I’m calling a Fence Sleeve.
The Fence Sleeve turns your regular fence into a stable platform for cutting tall stock safely and accurately, without replacing or modifying the factory fence. It installs quickly, removes just as easily, and can be adapted for different setups.
I also show how to add a miter gauge channel to the tall fence so it can be used for joinery operations like lap joints and tenons, easily expanding what you can safely do on the table saw.
This is a straightforward, shop-built solution that focuses on support, accuracy, and flexibility...without overcomplicating the fence or locking you into a single setup.
