Finally started the demo 3 days ago and the first thing I do is this boar and nothing else =0b. The Pascal vibes are strong with this one, not only cause I'm doing a Pascal solo right now. Already shown a bit in the Shionne/Pascal comparison video, but after playing there are other details that give the impression of Pascal being a base for Shionne; from obvious animations, to minor aspects like dodging to avoid resetting her gun(vulnerable in this moment)... at least, its what I convinced myself of. Most likely gonna be my main =03.
About this boss, its your basic boar, only you can't really stagger it. Playing around boss attacks is something I'm familiar with, so the style to play it is right up my alley.
For this take, I particularly focus on countering its charge, evident when the boar's left front leg makes the charging motion 3 times. After I perfect counter and it passes me, I have a bit of time before it can recover to unload a few more artes(usually light bomb ext, lightning bomb ext, displode, aqua impact) onto it. If the counter stops it in place, then I use 1 less arte in preparation it will charge again very soon. If it stops a 2nd time in a row, it will usually recover even faster, so then I just throw 1 bomb, jump, aqua impact. Rinse and repeat. Still a whole lot of room for improvement. Learning its close-ranged attacks could have further improved the quality of the fight, but I opted to keep it simple.
I really like the boss system so far. Makes me have to respect what the boss can do, while both me and the boss can still be aggressive. Unfortunately, I couldn't maximize my aggression, due to the HP of the boss and the length of the battle; else I would further minimize my idle time and/or do more riskier plays, like attacking in-between his OVL double charge attack(which can be done).
Have zero serious complaints about the system so far. I do wish the artes had a 2nd voiced line like the last couple of entries in the series; hearing "Displode! Aquaeous Impact!" got a bit repetitive, but that's minor stuff that will probably be diluted with stuff like the Artes Ball, and its possible that the main game does have it, and its just the demo that does this.
Now I can actually try to finish the demo, lol.

Never officially did this, and its the only thing not done on the playlist. Still hail these two battles as my most favorite in the game, so it was a treat to get back to it for a moment after playing a...less stellar version of this system *coughcoughZestiriacough* =03. My quick-steps werent 100% sharp like before, but it was still pretty fun.
Malik and Pascal will come later, but they arent nearly as fun to play and definitely not to watch, esp Pascal, whom the AI cant use for crap. Tales of Graces ƒ: Duels - Hubert/Sophie [Pascal]](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/9-5vFRAj4-E/mqdefault.jpg)

Guardian has really high Def and low A.Def, so Hidden Artes work to damage him well here. He has Iron Stance at the beginning of most of his attacks, so striking at the end of his attacks or when he casts is the best opportunity to start a combo. His attacks are easily telegraphed and his magic is easy to avoid, though Grave can be a bit of a problem if youre caught unaware.
Hes weak to Fiend and Armored. Hurricane Thrust, Mirage Dance, and Armor Crusher are the go-to artes to get a CHAIN going. Then its simply using the Form(Hidden) artes to do some good damage.
This take was a bit different than the combos I expected to do. During the first Form 2 into V. Stance(which is intentionally meant to break the combo so he can attack), I broke his iron stance twice(once with VP, again with HT). He also got pushed back pretty far from the Form 2 mine, which is very unusual considering his weight class, and since he practically always just iron stanced the VP(which would have flowed into another combo I had prepared just for that). After the iron stance break, kinda just freestyled it, which is why the combo variation is low. Still decided to keep it due to how perfect the fight proceeded.
I notice the over-reliance on Form 6. Gonna have to skip using that one in the next fight if Roku gets another turn =01...
