An Organic Tillage and Vegetables Open Day took place on Thursday, 18 June 2026 at the farm of Tommy Delahunt, Ballinaclogh, County Wicklow.
We spoke to Tadhg Fitzpatrick from Dunnes Farm Produce and O'Duinn Organacha in Durrow, Co. Laois to find out why they joined the Organic Tillage & Vegetables EIP Project.
Tadgh outlined that they wanted to try and move away from a labour intensive system and away from chemicals. They are hoping that by using some of the machines available in the programme, like the robotic weeding machines, they will be able to reduce labour costs and improve productivity.
