Silver's PhD research is aimed at evaluating the effectiveness of Estimated Breeding Values (EBV) for feed intake.
His work focuses on identifying beef cattle genotypes and production systems that are more sustainable, profitable, and environmentally friendly, with an overall goal of providing practical insight on the performance of beef cattle breeds divergent for feed intake, and guide the national breeding goals, as well as farmers in making selection decisions for beef cattle enterprise.
