Recently a small group of beef farmers from Cork, Wexford, Leitrim and Galway visited the Teagasc Grange Beef Research Centre with their Teagasc advisors to get a preview of some of what visitors to BEEF2026 are likely to see on 1st July. 🐂 🌱
There was plenty of discussion around the importance of weaning calves off milk replacer and the possible causes of summer scour syndrome in the calf shed. 🥛
The Derrypatrick Suckler Herd attracted strong interest, particularly its system of finishing bullocks and heifers off grass with no meal supplementation before the second winter.
Big interest in the cattle handling facilities, while the feed additive trial work provided insight into future developments in beef production. 🌾
